Your Bro sounds like a diamond in the rough; if he has found something to do with his life that he loves doing and pursues said love with a passion then all I can say that the police's attitude toward him borders dangerously on notions of harrassment - particularly if nothing ever comes of it.
I concur whole heartedly with Mr Flood - he should have a phone with him capable of recording what happens. At least then it might be seen that the plod are behaving like vexatious and arrogant ARSES who should get themseves a PROPER Job.

Would need further details about if he was interviewed, how long he was held for, did he have the opportunity to speak to a solicitor.

Even then I think it would only be probative evidence of breach of the PACE guidelines that would turn up at trial.

You can sue for wrongful arrest, so I hear, or alternatively make a complaint to the Independent Police Complaints Commission about the conduct of the officers.

Obviously each time he is arrested, they don't have enough evidence to prosecute.

Some people in my year never turned up to school, and were always at "college" doing apprentice ships but this was never checked. Such a shame that your talented younger brother who is obviously good at cooking can't just be left alone by the police and the schooling system.

I've enjoyed watching and playing a lot of sport, but can't seem to get excited about football. I'll watch the occasional big match, but it doesn't grab me. All that fuss over a game that frequently ends in a draw and yields only a few goals, if any. It'd be maddening to follow a team, week after week after week. Maddening enough to make me want to punch someone or rip my seat up and hurl it onto other the fans below, or... sorry, I WAS getting excited there, wasn't I?

Basketball is another one - but for the opposite reason. Too much scoring, back and forth, back and forth... at least it only takes 2 tennis players to get the ball to each end, instead of 10 or whatever.

Actually, while I can get excited about rugby and even American Football, about the most reliably entertaining game to watch is Australian Rules Football. Cracking stuff, played hard and fast by real athletes with all the skills. Lots of points scored. A draw is rare and actually the sign of a great contest. Fights stay on the pitch, beer in hand. Great way to spend the afternoon. If you're in bloody Australia.

this post made me chuckle. I hate football (but as a female I'm forgiven) my BF on the other hand is the same as you and hates the inevitable "what team do you support" conversations.

Having lived in both Manchester and Liverpool, I'm well aware of the need to be a blue or a red. On a night out getting into a taxi can be a risky business if you answer incorrectly trying to guess the drivers allegiance, when asked if you're a red or blue.

Even in Ireland there is no escaping it, at the age of 11, our teacher's good mood depended on Manchester Utd winning - we got sweets those days, otherwise you were likely to sent to stand in the corridor for dropping a pencil.

Football, eh? You either absolutely LOVE it, or absolutely HATE it. I am afraid to say that I'm in the latter camp, despite being positively SURROUNDED, as you are, by a mass of kin and extended kin who are absolutely BESOTTED by the Beautiful Game.

This comes from someone who HATES musicals but my friend's 5 year old made me watch it with her and I thought, for what it is, it is fab. Something for preteens to wet themselves over rather than a bunch of singing nuns.

I've never had much truck with Q & A books to be honest - they've never provided me with anything remotely useful by way of tips on structure and argument, so my first year purchase of same was a bit of a waste of money. After that, I didnt bother, and never looked back. Andro's quite right - tis better to do your own research!
